Vision Mapping Project Whole School Plan

The purpose of the project: To work with the local community of Himbleton to produce a Parish Map that records its local distinctiveness and reflects the feelings and emotions people in the Parish have towards their landscape and local wildlife.

Our purpose for the project: Share knowledge and experience to inspire our children so that they can enjoy and value their environment.

 

Autumn Term 2005

3 generations of family-Roma & Gilbert Parker, daughter Julie & grand-daughter Amy. All attended Himbleton School, live/farmed locally.

Artist Involvement:

Ben Haggerty, Storyteller, to work with staff & children to develop ways in collecting stories from our key people to be interviewed -1 day funded through project. Oct 12th(planning), Nov 14th & 17th (pm)

Rick Goldsmith-video artist to record Vision Mapping process- 2 x ½ days funded through project

Nov 16th, Gilbert Parker- to be confirmed

Summer Term 2006 

Focus 1st half term ~ Parish Mapping

 

 

Activities:

Re-inspire children through visit to a flower rich meadow

Create a whole school Parish Map that visually represents the information, stories and feelings collected.

Create wildlife silk flags to be erected in school gardens.

Lower Key Stage 1 & Chris Gent:

All children & staff:

Everyone to work with artist, Cate Clark, to design & make a silk flag recording local wildlife

May 9th & 10th
