Our Whole School Topic in Summer 2005

We are always out and about walking and exploring our environment locally.....

but in the Summer Term 2005 the whole school topic was water

 and we went further afield.

We began by identifying water in the local environment where we walked to Shell Ford and then followed Bowbrook back to school.

We stopped on the way for a rest!

We went further away, going on a River Severn Walk

and a Worcester Canal Walk

Later we all went to the seaside which is even further!

Then we had our own beach day - right here at school

Sixty eight bags of sand were delivered!

Mrs Hodgson and Mrs Ryan cooked fish and chips for all of us and wrapped them up in paper... then we had ice cream too!

We built sandcastles and paddled in paddling pools

on a lovely  hot sunny day.

Years 3 and 4 went fishing

This was funded by the Environment Agency in Shrewsbury as part of the Fisheries and Recreation Team work.  The trip was to help us understand the biology and environmental needs of fish and other life found in water

Upper Key Stage 1 looked at art works by various artists, including Lyonel Feininger adn LS Lowry and painted water scenes in the same style
