STAFFING
I thought it would be helpful to bring you up to date with the current staffing situation in the school.

I anticipate Miss Hand?s being absent from school for another two weeks. Mrs Gwilliam will teach in Key Stage 2 during this period and Mrs Carey will join me teaching in Key Stage 1.

In Mrs Cleavers absence Mrs Griffiths continues to work as secretary in the School office.

Mrs Griffiths also covers some of the Teaching Assistant duties whilst Mrs Phillips is on maternity leave. It is anticipated that Mrs Phillips will return to work early November.

Mrs Bower has left the School as Lunchtime Supervisor. Mrs Weeks and Mrs Clifton will cover her duties until Christmas.

Mrs Boaz, Lunchtime Supervisor will be leaving the School at Christmas to help run Field House Nursery in the Village. We wish her every success in her new venture.

Should you wish to discuss any of these staffing arrangements then please do not hesitate in contacting me Back to top
FRIUT SCHEME
You may have heard about the Government?s plan for a National School Fruit Scheme as a means of promoting healthy eating.

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 receive a free piece of fruit each school day. Each day is a different fruit day. The Department of Health purchases fresh fruit, apples, pears, bananas and satsumas, and arranges for it to be delivered to schools on a regular basis.

We recently applied to join the scheme as part of our commitment to healthy eating and I am delighted to report that our first consignment of fruit has arrived (unannounced!) and yesterday the children were offered and eagerly ate fun size apples during the afternoon session.

If you would like to know more about this scheme then I am more than happy to discuss it with you. Alternatively there is a brochure available in the office giving further information. Please see Mrs Griffiths. Back to top

WANTED
As part of our topic work on Victorians (and recycling) the children are making rag rugs with Mrs Helen Hodgson and Mrs Margaret Reeves.

It is our ambition to make one in each of the following colours: red, yellow, blue and green but it is surprising how much fabric they take. We would welcome any unwanted clothing items in these colours. Cotton fabric is best and patterned fabrics will be suitable as long as they are predominantly one of the wanted colours. Please send all donations into school as soon as possible. Back to top
TRANSFER FORMS (YEAR 4)
Transfer forms must be returned via school as soon as possible as we must return them to County by Friday, 7th November. Returning forms later than this date will result in the following:
